Chapter 6: The Mind of Christ The spirit of a man is made new instantly. But the mind is transformed progressively. This is where the tension exists in the believer’s life, not between two natures, but between: •a recreated spirit •and an unrenewed mind Until the mind comes into agreement with the spirit, the life of Christ within will remain unexpressed. •The Battlefield of Thought “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…” (Proverbs 23:7) Your life will always move in the direction of your thinking. Not your intentions. Not your desires. Your thinking. This is why transformation does not begin with behaviour, it begins with thought alignment. •The Call to Transformation “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” (Romans 12:2) Notice this carefully: You are not told to become something new in your spirit. You are told to be transformed, by the renewing of your mind. Transformation is the outward expression of inward truth becoming mentally established. Without renewal, you will: •live beneath your identity •struggle with what has already been defeated •interpret life through the lens of the old man •What Is the Mind of Christ? “But we have the mind of Christ.” (1 Corinthians 2:16) This is not something you are trying to attain. It is something you already have access to. The mind of Christ is: •aligned with truth •rooted in righteousness •governed by love •led by the Spirit It sees as God sees. It responds as Christ responds. But access does not equal manifestation. •The Gap: Access vs Agreement You have the mind of Christ in your spirit, but your conscious thinking may still be shaped by: •past experiences •worldly patterns •fear-based reasoning •self-preservation This creates conflict. Not because your spirit is divided, But because your mind is not yet aligned. Transformation happens when your thoughts begin to agree with what is already true in your spirit. •Breaking Old Thought Patterns “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God…” (2 Corinthians 10:5) Not every thought that enters your mind belongs to you. Some are: •learned •inherited •influenced •or rooted in the old identity Your responsibility is not to entertain every thought, but to evaluate and reject what contradicts truth. If a thought does not align with: •who God says you are •what Christ has done •what the Spirit is leading It must be cast down. •Renewal Through the Word The primary instrument of renewal is the Word of God. “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” (John 17:17) The Word does not just inform, it transforms. It: •corrects false beliefs •establishes truth •reshapes perception •aligns your thinking with Heaven But this requires more than reading, it requires meditation and absorption. •Meditation: The Process of Renewal To meditate is to: •think deeply •rehearse truth •internalise revelation This is how the Word moves from: •information - to conviction •conviction - to transformation When truth becomes your default thinking, your life will begin to reflect it naturally. •Replacing, Not Just Removing You cannot simply remove wrong thinking, you must replace it. If you try to “stop thinking negatively” without replacing it with truth, the old patterns will return. But when you: •replace fear with truth •replace lies with identity •replace doubt with faith Your mind becomes established. •Spiritual Perception vs Natural Reasoning “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” (Romans 8:6) A natural mind interprets life through: •circumstances •emotions •visible outcomes A renewed mind interprets life through: •truth •identity •the Spirit This is where peace is found, not in changing circumstances, but in thinking from Heaven’s perspective. •Consistency: The Key to Transformation Renewing the mind is not a one-time event, it is a daily process. Every day, you are presented with a choice: •agree with old patterns •or align with truth Consistency builds stability. And over time, what once required effort becomes natural thinking. •The Key: Agreement with Truth Transformation is not about trying harder, it is about agreeing more consistently with truth. When your thoughts align: •your emotions follow •your actions follow •your life reflects it •Activation: Take Authority Over Your Mind This is where responsibility becomes clear. You are not a victim of your thoughts. You are a steward of them. So now: •reject what is false •embrace what is true •think in alignment with Christ Let this be your standard: “If this thought does not reflect Christ, I will not keep it.” •Prayer Father, Renew my mind by Your truth. Where my thinking has been shaped by the old, Break it and realign me with Your Word. Teach me to think as Christ thinks, To see as You see, And to respond from truth, not emotion. Give me discernment to reject every lie, And discipline to remain in truth. Let the mind of Christ become my daily reality. In Jesus’ Name. •Now we move into something that brings power to everything we have begun to build: Chapter 7: Grace Defined - Divine Enablement This is where we dismantle false grace and establish the power that actually enables the New Creation life.
