Chapter 13: Beholding and Becoming Transformation is not the result of effort. It is the result of what you behold. Many try to change their behavior without changing their focus. They attempt discipline without revelation. They strive outwardly, while remaining unchanged inwardly. But the Kingdom does not work this way. God does not command you to become, He invites you to behold. •The Divine Pattern of Transformation “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image…” (2 Corinthians 3:18) Notice the order: Beholding - Changing - Becoming You are not transformed by trying harder. You are transformed by seeing clearly. What you consistently behold will shape: •your thinking •your identity •your responses •your life •What Does It Mean to Behold? To behold is not a glance, it is a fixed gaze. It is: •sustained focus •intentional attention •deep contemplation It is not casual, it is engaged. When you behold Christ: •you study Him •you meditate on Him •you focus your heart on Him And as you do, something begins to shift within you. The Mirror of Truth “…beholding as in a glass…” The “glass” is the mirror of God’s truth, His Word. When you look into the Word, you are not just reading, you are seeing who you are in Christ. But there are two ways to look: •briefly, and forget •deeply, and become “But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein…” (James 1:25) Continuation is the key. Transformation does not come from occasional exposure, but from consistent beholding. •You Become What You Behold This is a spiritual law. If you behold: •fear - you become fearful •offense - you become hardened •the world - you become conformed But if you behold: •Christ - you become like Him This is why focus matters. Your life is being shaped, whether you realise it or not, by what you give your attention to. •The Role of Intimacy Beholding is not mechanical-it is relational. You are not studying a concept-you are encountering a Person. Transformation flows through: •intimacy •fellowship •relationship The more you draw near, the more clearly you see. The more clearly you see, the more deeply you are changed. From Glory to Glory “…changed into the same image from glory to glory…” Transformation is progressive. Not instant perfection, But continual elevation. Each level of revelation brings: •deeper alignment •greater clarity •increased expression You are not stagnant, you are ascending. •Removing Distractions One of the greatest enemies of transformation is distraction. Your attention is constantly being pulled: •by the world •by media •by pressure •by internal noise But what you give your attention to will shape you. If your focus is divided, your transformation will be limited. •Fixing Your Gaze “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith…” (Hebrews 12:2) This is intentional. You must choose where you look. Not occasionally, but consistently. When challenges arise: •look to Christ When emotions fluctuate: •look to Christ When confusion comes: •look to Christ Because clarity is found in where your gaze is fixed. •The End of Striving When beholding becomes your lifestyle, striving loses its place. You no longer: •force change •chase growth •struggle to become Instead: •you behold •you align •you are transformed Effort is replaced with yielded focus. •The Key: Consistent Focus Transformation is not complicated, it is consistent focus over time. What you look at daily will determine who you become eventually. •Living This Daily Practically, this means: •spending time in the Word with intention •meditating on truth, not just reading it •turning your attention back to Christ throughout the day •guarding what you allow your mind to dwell on This is how transformation becomes natural. •Activation: Fix Your Gaze Today, make a decision: To stop being distracted. To stop dividing your attention. To stop trying to change through effort. And instead. Behold Christ. Let Him become your focus. •Prayer Father, Teach me to behold You. Not casually, But deeply and consistently. Remove every distraction That pulls my attention away from truth. Let my gaze be fixed on Christ, That I may be transformed into His image. From glory to glory, Lead me into deeper revelation And greater alignment. I choose to behold, And I trust You to bring the transformation. In Jesus’ Name. Chapter 14: The Process of Sanctification This will bring balance, showing how instant identity and progressive transformation work together without contradiction.
